Acne comes in different forms and blemishes come in various sizes. Whether you’re fighting cystic acne that forms deep down in your pores due to your hormones raging out of control as if you were a teenager again or stubborn little whiteheads that just won’t get a clue, we all have the same goal- to control acne.
Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States and dare I say, among the top skin conditions in the world. Although accurate information about acne is available, myths about acne are as common as the skin condition itself.
One common myth about acne is that you have to let acne run its course. Dermatologists say that following this advice is not always the best advice because:
- Without fast and timely treatment, acne goes on to leave dark spots and permanent scars as it fades.
- Treating acne often boosts your self esteem.
- Many effective treatments are available.
